How very loyal of these so called members talking about thier club in such a negative way and encouraging gossip and inuendo. Do you want them at your club????

What goes on internally at a club should stay within that club.

Members can be such a pain in the arse especially if they weren't in agreeance with the direction a club chooses to take. I am presuming that this is these members or why else would you talk about your club negatively and it is negative!

Be very interesting to see what happens.....my sources say that ihe club is financially fine.

Surely, the council was fully aware of all this and gave their approval to this complex and had already provided some financial support.

Do know that there has been a bloke spreading rumours of this same subject (not from Brighton) and apparently he has been taken to task by a Brighton member. Got told well and truly!

And to be honest I also believe that if the council has helped out one sport or sporting body everyone in that area should also receive some financial gain. So you can understand the other sports being slightly peeved.

I would be totally surprised if it were even remotely true.
Sure Brighton have had some bad luck with their development, but,
they have plenty in reserve and plenty of contacts to get them out of any pickle.
Brighton have quite a few clever members who get the job done.
They will be a pain in the arse for very many years to come

And how good is that? It needs clubs like this to take us into the 21st Century.

Other clubs will try to catch up at a rapid rate which hopefully will bring the sport into this century!!!

Normally if you undertake any work on Council land you have to show that you are financial enough to complete the work. I would be amazed if Brighton have had to dip too far into any reserve they had to fund this project, had a walk around the exterior of the site about a week ago, looks quite impressive

Pat McErlean interviewed the Chairman from Brighton BC on the weekend. He admitted that all the money for the project had been spent. However, he was not talking about being broke or going down the gurgler. There have been delays for all sorts of reasons, just as there have been unexpected expenses (paying out the tennis club they left behind!)

The project will be completed and there will be a world class (so we're told) facility in Melbourne as a result. They really need it to be finished ASAP so they can start making money. Beyond that I think any talk/speculation about Brighton BC going broke etc, is just that - talk and speculation.
I'll never be a good example so I might as well be a great warning !!

Gee I remember alluding to Brighton needing to cut some of the proposed facilities at the new complex about 2 months ago.
I said then that the dollars to finish the project were tight.

A fair few on this forum who gave me a lot of stick regarding my comments have flip flopped all of a sudden.
